Subject: You may already have wiring for CPT8000 - you need to check.

You will not be able to use a T-Mobile phone as they are GSM, and there is no GSM CPT7000 or 8000 that I am aware of.

The sure way to tell if your prewiring is CPT8000 or 7000 is to open up the electronics area in the left of the trunk (instructions for this can be found on e38.org - it's easy - I've done it a million times), and look to the left of the CD changer. If you have a silver box about 7" x 4" x 2" mounted directly to the left of the changer with it's back exposed, a single visible bolt holding it to the bracket on top, you have a CPT8000, and that box is your TCU (telematics control unit). If there is nothing visibly mounted directly to the left, and all you can see is the back of a bracket (which has stuff mounted on it from the other side), you have a 7000, and the PSE (7000 equivalent of TCU) is mounted against the side wall of the car - a tall, black, narrow box.

Another, less sure, but much easier way to tell is to look at the eject box itself. Pop it open with the switch, and look at the little clip protruding from the top of it - this clip hooks into the back of the phone when it's installed, and the clip is spring loaded on the 8000, and slides freely back and forth on the 7000.
