Phew! I read somwhere they didn't but glad they do just bolt straight on, thanks for the knowlege Brian.

I thought about the DME 5.2, but it won't talk to the GS9.2 for the auto trans and I'd have to retrofit or bypass EWS III, and in addition get it to talk to the cluster and OBC.

It makes sense to me to just dump the whole M62 intact in and just do the two little mods (M62 toothed front pulley weld/bolt the sensor on, and modify cam sensor) and just hope the M60 DME mapping isn't too agressive for the milder M62 cam timing.

The M62 engine I have here was supposed to be unwell but the more I disassemble it, I really cannot find anything wrong, was probably a vacuum leak and somebody's screwed with the cam timing Still need to get the pistons out, but the alusil bores look very good and all cyls appear to have been running clean, just a bit rich so unless something shows itself I'll measure up clearances to be sure, and go with a set of rings, bearings and lifters.

Now that I got hold of another engine because I thought the Nikasil bug had reared it's head again I changed the injectors and it's back to running good, but I'm sick of worrying about the Nikasil and doing monthly compression tests, so will go ahead with replacing it for piece of mind anyway. (ZA fuel is STILL full of sulphur and the auto manufacturers are pushing govt to get it sorted out soon)

I presume all the compressor, alternator and water pump bits I can use off the M60?
