Subject: US models got different switches. 91 is not a AGS

AFAIK the gearbox itself for the EGS and AGS is the same. It's just the control unit that is different. There is a guy here in holland who put an 89 750iL transmission into a 93 750i. So an EGS box under an AGS car. According to him it worked fine.

The US models seem to have a variety of switches. An A/M switch equiped car doesn't have to be an AGS equiped car. I remeber Gale's car had that switch while the 735 AFAIK never even had AGS.

I've looked into upgrading my 91 EGS to AGS aswell. You HAVE to install the ASC+T for the AGS to work properly. The AGS in its winter mode adopts the shifting to the traction information it recieves from the ASC+T control unit. And as the ASC+T requires extra wiring and an extra hydraulicunit which I can see but not reach on a 750 with the engine in it I left it alone.
