Subject: Gauges in IP died. LKM related?

A couple days ago, all the gauges in my instrument cluster stopped working - they were all pegged full left side. This happened during normal driving.

I checked fuses, and found that #25 was blown. Replaced it (even though it supposedly has nothing to do with the IP). Started the car, and guages seemed to work ok. Went for a short drive (less than a mile) - it seemed that the guages "surged" - went over to the right side, then then all died again.

Fuse #25 is ok now. All other fuses in that box seem ok. Seems that all the lights on bottom of the IP are working ok also. Not aware of any other issues.

When I had an '89 535i, I did a repair on the LKM, but I can't remember now what for. I just did a search in the archives for LKM, but it seems to be all lights related, not connected to the IP.

Suggestions? ??
