Thank you for the replies, I looked on EBay and found some units BMW wanted to charge $3000.00 for a new one. extended warranty doesn't cover it.

I just bought a new DVD 2009.1 but it is stuck, is there a way to get it out. (the eject button doesn't respond when pressed and the light of CD-in is off)

I also noticed that when I unplugged the nav unit , there was no CD changer and I could not operate the Idrive...is it all linked together?
