The fact that audio cuts out is a clue that the MOST bus could be crashing. Either way, I suspect that you have a faulty nav computer. You could try disconnecting and reconnecting the nav computer to "reboot" it. If that does not work, it is pretty easy to replace yourself. We upgraded my Dad's 2007 745Li with a NAVI03 nav computer from a 2006. It is way better than the NAVI02 that originally came with the cars.
