The alternator pulley turned one time no prob, but after turning it again, there was a ton of resistance, it would do this with several turns and I knew that the bearings or brushes or both were bad.
the car did idle rough only because there was resistance in the pulley/belt system.

If you want to see if its bad bearings or whatever, remove the belt and spin all the pulleys several times, they should all spin freely.
