Subject: Restoring INFO & SELECT is easy; white line may be a screen defect

I'll bet that your INFO button does not work either. This is common after a 16:9 screen upgrade. When you first install and code a nav unit in you need to do a radio on-off-on sequence to "introduce" the radio module to the nav computer and the 16:9 screen. The BMW TSB below gives you the background of what you need to do.

The challenge for us DIY folks is that we can not code our navs, so
after doing an upgrade to the radio or any other nav part, we can not
initiate the state that makes the display and the nav computer
receptive to the radio introduction. However, a few folks discovered that the nav enters this state when you downgrade to the V23 CD and then do an upgrade. Other CD versions may also work as the downgrade target, but V23 seems to be the one that has worked best for others.

The 2nd post below describes the sequence that you need to do to get the INFO and SELECT buttons activated. So you know, this will kick you into Euro mode, which eliminates the Accept screen and displays your shorter distances in yards instead of feet.

I have seen a few posts from folks who have had persistent lines in their displays. This may be a defect in the screen.
